Although it seems like there's one dialogue option at the start when you first talk to the escape artist; that seems to stick and not advance properly unless you just click on all three dialogue options. The story is pretty generic but is still genuine in its intentions, the writing is strong but is not brought to its full potential due to how short the game is. The whole story is very abrupt and feels like an abridged version of a relatively typical animated movie. The plot just doesn't fit well into this small a time frame. The entire sequence about logic and fallacy doesn't make much sense considering it doesn't truly have anything to do with the story, it seems to be artificially injected in for the sake of trying to teach the player some kind of lesson.Overall while it was a nice little experience, it definitely is rough around the edges in the way it tells a generic magician story in a half hour; with this strange inclusion of a lesson on critical thinking. Would of much rather paid for a larger scale story that has been fully fleshed out and fits into itself, then this very confined and uncertain short story. Still interesting though to be sure, just this same concept would have been much more interesting and more natural in a larger format.. Cute art, nicely chosen music, can't comment on the story too much yet, it seems to have multiple endings. Only things that bug me are the volume of the sound effects at certain times, compared to the volume of the music they startled me a few times. Also it some UI bugs like the font being too big in the "text history" window or in the options menu but nothing really game breaking. For that price it's a nice little game.. It's a great VN, despite being desperately short. It's all about "black&white" decisions, charming and enjoyable.. I love this, just wished I could see what happened next. Its not a sudden ending but I like these characters. Around 30 minutes of playtime would seem to be a turn off at any price. In my opinion its well worth the price for what it is.. Short (~30 min.), cute story with a unique art style and some interesting dialogue-based gameplay. Feels more like a proof of concept that would be better suited for a freeware game -- I'm not just talking about the length, but the sense that the characters, concepts, and themes introduced could be developed into a more substantial visual novel -- but I'd still recommend it if you're interested in experimental VNs.. I got to call people out on logical fallacies without feeling like a neckbeard.. Cute visual novel with a nice, short story.Ending: Honest Apprentice.
